I thought I was used to the exhaustion by last week, but these last two days I’ve been beat by 4 o’clock. I still love my job. The people are awesome. The kids are awesome. The thinking I get to do is awesome. The variety in my work is really cool. Tomorrow I’ll be teaching data visualization–through spreadsheets and a couple of other tools–and Scratch programming. Today I did storyboarding in preparation for digital video projects. And I’ve been given the green light to develop a year-long Computer Science course for next year. Woo hoo! Seriously. I couldn’t be more excited.
But that likely means I have some long days ahead. There’s not a whole lot of time during the day to develop a new course. All my free time is spent either in meetings or planning my current courses. It looks like it will be Thanksgiving before I see some more down time. I’ll finish a trimester then and since my courses just repeat, I won’t have to completely replan. I probably will tweak a few things, but no spending hours writing directions and plans for the day.
So right now I’m channeling Dory.
