Day of Reading

I had wanted to do this on Monday, but life intervened, what with the basement flooding and all.  So, I’m going to do it today.  I can’t give over the whole day to reading, but I can dedicate a good chunk to it.  I joined PaperBack Swap a few weeks ago and now have a nice pile of books that I’ve always wanted to read, plus one that I’m reviewing (almost done with it).  I have What’s the Matter with Kansas, Eat, Pray, Love, and Teacher Man. Honestly, I’m not sure where to start!

Sadly, writing has been almost non-existent this week and I’m okay with that.  I figure reading will be inspirational and motivational and I’ll be ready to dig in next week. There’s just been too much disruption this week to get anything done.

  1. Writing has been non-existent for a long time and my goal this week is to get it off and running again. I’ve been contemplating PaperbackSwap too, but the Library is a good excuse to take Windtalker for a spin when the weather’s good ;). Interested in what you think of Eat, Pray,Love when you finish it, I read it a couple of years ago. Will reserve my opinion till you finish. I have to confess, these days, I escape into the worlds of sci-fi and fantasy more often than not. I’ll be doing plenty of serious reading once school starts, might as well enjoy it while it lasts 😉

  2. Oh, thanks for mentioning PaperBackSwap, it sounds like a WONDERFUL idea, one I’d never heard of! I might join in, too bad the first book I searched they don’t have already (Jumpa Lahiri’s The Namesake) — it’s one that I really really want to read.

Enjoy your day of reading, it sounds lovely!
