I just wanted to write a note here to say that I won’t be around for a while. I am here at my dad’s. My stepmother died yesterday after 8 years of suffering with breast cancer. Though her death wasn’t unexpected, it wasn’t planned for either. And it is still a blow. She died too soon. She will be missed.

I knew your step-Mom when I was an awkward pre-adolescent in the 60s. My folks and hers were friends, and she and my older siblings were friends. Even though she looked like a goddess, she was very sweet and friendly to this little feller who thought he was generally invisible to most other people! I’m sorry for her passing, your family is in my prayers.
