		<description>And it is amazing how mainstream culture will tell you that being liked is the most important thing there is. I didn&#039;t understand it until it started making a difference professionally (if only in the short to medium term) and I sort of got forced to pay attention. Seeing this post I realize how often, nonetheless, people tried to impress that upon me earlier. 

Today my 8 year old friend brought her 8 year old friend over and I realized that my friend is not always nice to her friend. &quot;If you&#039;re going to slap her, I won&#039;t play this afternoon,&quot; said I. &quot;Shhh,&quot; said the friend with great complicity. &quot;Don&#039;t say anything. Remember, I have to manage her.&quot; Knocked me back.</description>
